Extracurricular Activity

Colorado Mesa University Society of Physics Students, President

Led each meeting (which occurred biweekly during the Fall and Spring semesters). Organized community events such as the pumpkin and egg drops.

Society of Physics Students National Council, Associate Zone Councilor

Helped to select outstanding SPS chapters in Zone 14. Served on a committee to develop a database of Sigma Pi Sigma members who are available speak publicly.

2014 - 2015

Colorado Mesa University Society of Physics Students, Vice President

Planned a physics demonstration for every club meeting. Helped prepare for community events.

2013 - 2014

Outreach Events

9th Annual Egg Drop, Colorado Mesa University

A competition for middle and high schoolers based on egg containers dropped from a 51 foot tall cherry picker on the university plaza. Schools from the area (as well as passing college students) were invited to watch and participate. As president of the physics club, I was a primary organizer and announcer for the event.

2015

8th Annual Pumpkin Drop, Colorado Mesa University

Very much like the egg drop, but not a competition. Pumpkins were dropped from the same height as the egg drop. The event was a fun way to get children and college students excited about physics. I was a primary organizer.
